Strategic Writing for Integrated Marketing Communication (COM 232): Designed to improve strategic communication skills in all areas of marketing and corporate communication. More specifically, it’s designed to make students stronger, clearer, more persuasive writers while teaching industry standards for many modes of marketing communication. Students read, critique and create integrated marketing materials for business, with the goals of improving all aspects of writing and becoming familiar with the content, organization, format and design of standard strategic communications.

Writing and Inquiry (ENG 111): Designed to develop the ability to produce clear writing in a variety of genres and formats using a recursive process. Emphasis includes inquiry, analysis, effective use of rhetorical strategies, thesis development, audience awareness, and revision. Upon completion, students should be able to produce unified, coherent, well-developed essays using standard written English.
Writing/Research in the Disciplines (ENG 112): The second in a series of two courses, ECG 112 introduces research techniques, documentation styles, and writing strategies. Emphasis is placed on analyzing information and ideas and incorporating research findings into documented writing and research projects.

An ongoing course development project for integrating new COM Department hires into the department while familiarizing new instructors with department teaching standards and offering basic training for UNCW’s Learning Management System, Canvas, as well as integrated tools like Echo360 and Zoom.
